LOCAL WRESTLERS ARE HEADED TO STATE

Each year, Miami-Dade and Broward Counties send numerous wrestlers to the state tournament with winning a state title or placing an objective.

With powerhouse South Dade among the best every year, first year head coach Humberto “Duck” Reyna looks to add to the growing number of state titles after picking up his first dual championship back in January.

While the Bucs have dominated 3A, last year’s 1A state champions, Miami Mater Lakes and head coach Brandon Neifeld are also a favorite to bring home another crown to south Florida.

While 2A is going to be very competitive, head coach Joe Biasucci and his Pembroke Pines Somerset program are fresh off a regional title last weekend and will be a force.

South Dade’s girls are a team to watch for the title with several key competitors having a chance to win titles for the Lady Bucs.
