When he returned to coach Miami’s Archbishop Carroll seven years ago, Jorge Zagales came back with the same principles and outlook he did after completing a successful stint in the early 2000s.
Teaching, coaching and developing have long been what this impressive educator has always been about, and with a 39-14-1 record in his second stint with the Bulldogs, creating a balance between preparing his athletes for a career in football as well as getting ready for life is the objective.
In an atmosphere that puts religion in the spotlight Archbishop Carroll has done very well with all their athletic programs, and when it comes to football, competing against programs that are larger and have more resources has never been an obstacle for one of the most complete coaches.
As they get ready for spring and summer, this program will return some quality players – while losing key seniors such as Joshua Velez, William Secola, Jonas Taylor, Kendrick Pembleton and Max Marrero – to mention a few.
There are some key returners on this team this season – with rising seniors coming back from the 7-3-1 team – such as Joel Rodriguez, Isaiah Suarez and Coleman Quesada.
With returning rising juniors (2028) such as Dylan Galadza, Justin Matias and Marcelo Carrion – this will be a team that will compete once again.
