Miami-Dade, Broward Standouts That Will Sack Your Quarterback

If you take a look at the prospects that come out of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties each year, you will find football talent that just does not blend it. The gifted young men dominate.

No matter what position you look at – and we have been fortunate to watch and evaluate more than our share – you will see athletic difference makers who continue to make an impact in high school, college and often professionally.

As we continue to shine a spotlight on the many football players across the #305 and #954 at every position, today we check out five outstanding pass rushers, who were among the top sack leaders in 2025 and are expected to do it once again when the 2026 season begins.

2027 – Raul Alvarez, OLB/DE, 6’0, 210, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna – 4.02. 1220 SAT. A year ago, as a member of the district champion Miami Immaculata LaSalle program that went two rounds deep in the state playoffs, this impressive student/athlete finished the year with 16 sacks. Making the move to Broward County to play for the powerhouse Lions, there is little to no doubt that he will continue to elevate his play and provide his new team with someone that creates positives.

2028 – Meshi Dobson, DE, 6’4, 235, Weston Cypress Bay. Making the move from Plantation for his junior season, here is someone who is considered one of the best in the state and mentioned nationally as a difference maker. Has an opportunity to truly explode this season after a 72-tackle (52 Solo), 14-sack year that also included 31 tackles for loss and one fumble recovery. Is already getting major attention from colleges across the country.

2027 – Trevoris “T.J.” Finley, Edge, 6’3, 225, Miami Carol City. After a stellar season at Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna, this two-time state champion moves down south as a major force for the Chiefs. Every major college in the nation wanted to check this emerging star out this past spring after a 16-sack junior year for the Lions. He is quick, strong, athletic and very agile. This will be a huge year for this quality talent.

2027 – Wyatt Smith, DE, 6’6, 245, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas. From the first time he stepped on the field for the seven-time defending state champion Raiders, there was no doubting this quality talent’s ability. The son of former NFL standout Justin Smith, he was indeed a huge reason why this program was so dominant in 2025 with his 25 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. Committed to attend Ohio State University, could he follow in that talented line that included Joey and Nick Bosa? Only time will tell!

2028 – Fletcher Spann III, OLB, 6’0, 195, Miami Palmetto. After a dominating sophomore season at Homestead Somerset Silver Palms, here is someone who will only enhance what the Panthers have after falling just short of playing for a 7A state title a year ago. He led the Stallions with 12.5 sacks, 56 tackles and numerous huge plays that kept program in the district title race.
