While Miami True North Classical Academy has been building this program for much of the past decade (seven years), this off-season may have been the most important time for this team and the future.
No matter where it was during the spring and summer, head coach Greg Laffere (a former University of Miami standout) and his staff took this team to colleges and universities to showcase a growing group of student/athletes that continued to add prospects and become a force among 1A schools.
Events at University of Florida, University of South Florida, Florida Atlantic University and many other schools has given this football team, coaches and players a chance to improve and gain the exposure needed.
The program which was started back in 2019 had certainly evolved through the years, compiling a 34-16 record – 17-7 over the past two seasons.
What the No. 18 Titans have done is not only build a program that would field a team in a competitive 1A class that has been dominated by national power Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna but add enough quality talent to compete and make a run in the district and region.
While the season started off with losses to state powers Sarasota Cardinal Mooney and Fort Myers Bishop Verot, things have turned around as they get set to host longtime power Jacksonville University Christian this evening (7:00) at Tropical Park.
Here is a look at some of players who have helped to put the Titans on the map:
