When it comes to covering the off season in high school football, attending camps, combines and 7-on-7 events every weekend is a major advantage to getting an education on the talent we have.
For over six decades, we have made it a priority to get out, watching even the smallest events that take place during the spring and summer to see some of the present and future athletes that we (south Florida) has long produced.
Those who have followed us for decades understand that we shine the spotlight on many of these standouts before they ever play a game at the high school level – a place where many recruiting analysts watch them perform for the first time.
Remember, since our contacts go back to the 1970’s, we are fortunate to have watched so many generations play this great game, and for that reason - brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents who we have covered and promoted, well before the internet began, have been calling, texting and messaging us for decades about their brothers, cousins, sons and grandsons who are on their way to becoming special.
The great thing about what we do – and what we have done well before many were even following high school sports – is we don’t sit home and use the computer as a sole resource to evaluate, “discover” and promote players and teams.
Since we promote thousands of prospects – in every class – each day statewide by traveling all spring and summer – it is because we have this Miami-Dade, Broward website and social media to ensure that our local prospects – in all sports – get the true recognition they deserve.
Today, we bring you some younger (2030, 2031) players who are already making an impact at the varsity level in a region of the country where college coaches are always watching.
We never will take credit for an athlete. Not our style. But we will make sure that we will watch the players we promote several times throughout their career – no matter what sport they take part in.
2030 - Johntavies Jones, WR, 6’1, 175, Pembroke Pines West Broward. Talk about the next one up. Here is a prospect that everyone has been talking about, and as a freshman, this quality playmaker has more than backed up all the hype. He has size, and is athletic and talented. In just a short period of varsity exposure, he has put up numbers for the Bobcats and head coach Brian McCartney and his staff are bowled over with the maturity this young man brings to game.

2031 – Kash Kirkland, WR/RB, 5’9, 152, Miami Westminster Christian. While being around the game all your life is no guarantee that you will be a star – in anything – this is the son of a coach, who up until this year, taking over as head coach at Westminster Christian, Josh Kirkland had not had the chance to coach and watch his son as much as he would have liked. As a college coach, the father had never been in a position to actually coach his son. What Kash has done, since the spring, is show that an 8th grader, who came from Texas, can indeed make an impact, and as they play for what looks like the district title on Friday against Miami Killian, this versatile standout will be an impact performer and has impressed so much, he earned his first offer – from the Big 10 - University of Washington. It will be fun to watch his progress over the next four plus years!

2030 - Giovanny Moreira, DE, 5’11, 205, Hialeah Gardens Mater Academy. While veteran football coach and Hall of Famer Tim “Ice” Harris Sr. is not one to single out prospects that are this young, everything he has said about this impressive defensive performer is right on target. After watching him play earlier this season against Miramar Everglades, this is a ninth grader who certainly has a future as a defensive playmaker with great instincts, especially for someone so young. As he grows physically and matures from a mental standpoint he will be very special.

2030 - Jaziel Polanco, QB, 5’8, 160, Miami Immaculata LaSalle. Here is a program that is quickly earning a reputation as the place where careers are started early, and with this young man doing his thing as an offensive leader, you can add him to that growing list that head coach Helder Valle and his amazing staff continue to churn out. Whether it’s with his arm, legs or using his instincts, this is a gifted player that we have been able to watch in the off season and have followed what he is doing for the unbeaten Royal Lions. It will be fun watching his growth through the years as his team matures around him.

2030 - Jonathan “J-Roc” Sawyer, WR/S, 6’0, 185, Hollywood McArthur. When we talk about a generational talent, it’s prospects like this who follows in the rather large footsteps that his brother and father left before him. Has had the opportunity to make an impact with a Mustangs’ squad that continues to build in a public school environment. Being in a program like this, under veteran head coach Robert “Chop” Ortega, this is a talent that will learn the game from the best and has been put in a situation where he will only enhance what he brings to the football table as a superior athlete that absorbs more and more in each practice and on game day. Another player that you will want to be part of his journey.
