The Nation Will Be Watching South Florida Tonight

While St. Thomas Aquinas has dominated football in the state of Florida – especially in south Florida – the seven-time defending state champions will once again be in the spotlight when they make their first ever varsity appearance to the campus of Chaminade-Madonna in Hollywood.

The No. 1 rated team in the country will bring their 5-0 team south to play the Lions (4-1) in a game that has now become a yearly meeting.

Two years ago these two met at FIU, but this year the Lions will keep the home game on campus where seating and parking will be a challenge.

While the Raiders come in as a favorite for the 6:30 p.m. kickoff, both teams are loaded with tremendous coaching and big-time prospects.

At stake will be a place in the inaugural “Open Division” where the Raiders own the top spot and the Lions will have to come up with a few more wins to be one of the eight programs.

THE BATTLE FOR COCONUT CREEK TAKES CENTER STATE

Coconut Creek Monarch (3-2) at Coconut Creek (4-1), 7. If you are a football fan in this area tonight, this is a game that you may want to check out.

Both programs play their home games on this field – so things should be even as far as advantage.

This is a game that is not a district contest but will go a long way in determining the post season – as each team has played a similar schedule and are pretty much an even matchup.

While they aren’t in the same district, both are 5A, so this may not be the only meeting of the 2026 season.
