University School, Westminster Academy Clash In SSAA Playoffs Tonight

On the heels of the pairings being released for next week’s FHSAA state playoffs, football will take center stage tonight in Fort Lauderdale.

When NSU University School plays host to rival Westminster Academy at AutoNation Field at 6 p.m., it will be another opportunity for these two programs to shine in round 2 of the Sunshine State Athletic Association playoffs.

Both of these independent programs know the post season drill very well – with the Sharks and head coach Mike Norman advancing to last year’s title game at The Villages Charter before losing to Oviedo The Master’s Academy, 49-42, in a thriller that gave them a successful 9-3 season.

For veteran head coach Ehren Wallhoff and his Lions, they tasted championship football two years ago when they also played The Master’s Academy in the title game in Lakeland, losing 34-27.

Both teams are loaded with talent, and each has played a competitive schedule.
