It’s simple. When No. 3 Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna at No. 1 Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas end the regular season this evening at 7:00, it will mean much more than a regular season finale.
These two programs are the most dominating teams in the state and are nationally recognized, and will be showcased across the country on Max Preps. To be play this game with the state playoffs on the horizon is indeed a credit to both schools who have played a more than competitive schedule this year.
What veteran head coaches Roger Harriott and Dameon Jones have represented over the past decade are two football teams that are blueprints for what every other school in this state strives to be.
The success that both schools have achieved is simply unparalleled – and while last year’s Lions 29-22 win at Pitbull Stadium at FIU was certainly exciting and shined a bright spotlight on south Florida, this is a game that needs to be played every year.
Thanks to both being members of the Broward County Athletic Association (BCAA), last year and this year have been made possible.
