Final Week of The Regular Football Season Begins Tonight

It all started back in late April with spring football and plenty of optimism on fields and in gyms throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

With the long summer days filled with conditioning and attending camps, combines and 7-on-7 events that were all designed to get better and make the season ahead a success.

A lengthy nine month off season followed by three months of grinding and trying to win as a team while attracting college attention to continue playing this great game.

For many seniors, tonight’s (7:00) meeting between playoff bound North Miami (6-3) and Hialeah American (4-5) at Milander Park will kickoff the final week of the 2025 regular season.

While several programs will advance to next week’s first round of the state playoffs, tonight, Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be the final time this season that many will get to lineup and represent their school.

Throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, it will be an off-season that will once against winds its way through a new year, where all the negatives from this past season will be channeled into hope for the 2026 season.

For head coach Gerald Cox and his Pioneers and Tim Neal and his Patriots, the honor to kick the last week of the regular season off tonight will give students, administration, friends and family a chance to cheer their favorites on – many for the final time.
